Temporary escape

mummy & cookie
I have to say a HUGE thank you to the fabulous Gabi & Simon for looking after the Cookie Monster last night. It was really good to go out on a date and get the pants scared off me at the theatre.

Mr V & I went to the Theatre Royal to see the first night of 'the Woman in Black.' It's a recently written Gothic novel which has been adapted for the stage. The book is a traditional Victorial Ghost story with much cap doffing to Dracula and the House of Usher and the play has a nice modern twist in the ending and in the context of the setting. It is also v scary!!!! Mt V read and analysed the book when he did his English exams a couple of years ago and was very interested to see how it had been staged. I had not read the book but I will now, so much chattng on the way home about our different perspectives.

The evening started a bit wonky as we had promised Gabi a sleeping baby and presented her with a grissly awake one and then when I called in the interval the first thing I heard was a very lusty crying, but they soothed the savege, hungry and damp beast and gave us back a sound asleep baby. And we have a new 'go to sleep' trick, swinging her in her car seat, it works fast aparently and has to be better than 2 hours walking up and down holding her over my shoulder (the night before's entertainment) I had got it into my head that Gabi had a lot more baby sitting of small babies experience than she has but she and Simon did much better than we did in our first few days, so YAY YOU GUYS! Much nummy food will be supplied very soon.

I am now about to update my CV and get it sent off to the colleges etc to see if I can get some evening and weekend work which will help the whole 'Sam only working part time in Blundeston' thing, I have sewn the seeds with my boss and he wasn't too surprised.

OK stop procrastinating, get CVing

ciao
